“CE marking” is a process that applies to a wide variety of products and one in which manufacturers located in the EU or importers of goods into the EU must complete, to allow for formal compliance to the the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC ) Directive, Radio Equipment Directive, (RED) and the Medical Device Regulations (MDR) where EMC or other compliance requirements are mandated. If a product falls within the scope of at least one of the CE marking directives and is not specifically excluded, it must be CE marked to be placed into the market in the EU. Once the applicable directives are identified the product must be designed & tested to meet these directives, with a common practice of using harmonized standards that are published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ). Once you have demonstrated you have fulfilled the essential requirements of the directive, a technical file is assembled and maintained by the manufacturer, and the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity can be produced.
Standards we test to include:
- EN IEC 55011 (CISPR 11) (ISM — RF Lighting, Induction Cooking, Wireless Power Transfer, Microwave Ovens)
